Elegant leather halter.
The halter is made of high-quality genuine leather with a soft backing on the impudent and occipital straps, brass German fittings. Sewn by hand with a saddle seam with waxed thread. The skin is treated with an Italian finish to protect it from moisture.
What is the advantage of handmade products over conveyor ones? Here’s the thing.
The saddle seam is the strongest seam for sewing leather. It surpasses the machine seam in quality and service life.
In machine sewing, the upper and lower threads always remain on their side without moving to the opposite side. If the thread on one side is frayed and torn, then the thread on the other side is left without support and it simply “falls” out of the skin and pulls the tips of the torn thread behind it, which leads to the disintegration of the two stitched parts of the skin. A hole is formed in the seam.
When using a saddle seam, if one stitch breaks, most often it even goes unnoticed, because it will be held by the thread on the opposite side of the skin, and there will be no gap. Products sewn with such a seam will serve incomparably longer than those sewn with a sewing machine.
